The date for the happiest day of your life has already been set. One day that you’ve imagined many times, has finally arrived. Your expectations for this day are plain and simple. You want everything to be perfect! Let alone your own appearance. Remember, you are the leading star and you make your debut in your new life.

Most important of all, and maybe the most stressful part of this process, is to find the right wedding dress. I know your mother has been waiting for this and is looking forward to your first visit to a bridal boutique, as well as your friends, ready to give their opinion. I also know that this is because they adore you and they’re trying to help you, but most of the time all they do is to confuse you. My advice is to follow your instinct and choose what you really like. All I can do is to give you some tips, so that you won’t get confused by the variety of wedding dresses that are out there.

First of all, a key step is to set the budget that you are willing to give for your dream wedding dress. This itself will help you not to waste time with anything that exceeds it. Second step, it is also very important to find the style of the wedding dress that is best for the location of the mystery and the reception that will follow. You cannot wear a very heavy baroque bridal gown in a seaside chapel, nor a very wide skirt in a narrow aisle church.

The most important thing is for you to be comfortable. Don’t choose a smaller size with the prospect of loosing weight, find the wedding dress that will flatter you as you are now. You know that, not all women have the same body type. What does this mean? If you have narrow shoulders and wide hips, the upper part of your body should be “filled”. A bodice with embroidery or crystals is ideal, as are sleeves. Choose a wedding dress in A line to accentuate your silhouette.

If the opposite case occurs, choose a wedding dress with a light bodice and an open skirt adorned with crystals and even a several layers of fabric.

If your body is athletic with no curves, opt for a loose, airy silhouette  that will not emphasize their absence.

One the other hand, if your main feature is the curves, with a balanced top and bottom, then you are very lucky as most of the bridal styles fit you. My suggestion is a mermaid wedding dress either single or in two parts (skirt, bust). Be careful if you have a very large chest though. Don’t opt for a large neckline, a heart-shaped top is the perfect choice. Also, say no to shiny fabrics as they accentuate the curves.

In addition, don’t be negative about trying on wedding dresses that you think are not your style. Dare a wedding dress of a different color, or length. Even pants could be what you are looking for and fits you perfectly. Don’t be afraid of something different. Most of the times you will be amazed at how good it looks on you.
