Every year pantone announces the color of the year. After “Veri Peri”, a purple shade which was the color of 2022, the color “Viva Magenta” is the color of the year 2023. It is an exciting, playful color and definitely eye catching. It is bold and perfect for festive occasions. Pantone seems to want to add this touch of joy in our lives by integrating Magenta into them.

Who can wear the Magenta colour?

Magenta is a color that can be worn whether your skin has warm or cool undertones. This is because it comes from the combination of red and blue, which are a warm and a cool color. It is ideal for ladies with high contrast, meaning dark hair and eye color with lighter skin. But it can also be worn by ladies with low contrast, meaning, the skin, hair and eyes do not have much contrast with each other. Just avoid having it near the face in large quantity. Instead of a blouse, or a total Magenta look, use touches of the color in your accessories. For example in a bag, a scarf, a piece of jewelry or a pair of shoes. But you can also wear pants in this color if you want a more intense effect.

Color combinations of Magenta

Since it can be worn by all types of women, the next step is to find the perfect colour combinations. You can make an harmonious combination using the colors next to it on the color wheel (analogous). That is, all the colors that exist between red and blue. “Veri Peri” the color of the previous year is next to the color wheel with Magenta. So many pieces you bought last year will also match this year’s color.

On the other hand, if you want a more bold and dynamic combination, then you can choose a yellow-green color like Chartrese. This color is on the opposite side of the color wheel (complementary colours) and creates an amazing color blocking outfit with Magenta.
