Theoretically and according to our calendar, Spring begins on the first day of March and lasts until the last day of May. But what is the real first day of Spring?

Astronomy divides the seasons according to the angle at which the sun rays hit the earth. As we have learned in school, that angle heats up or freezes each hemisphere, and so the seasons are created. For spring this angle is at 23.5 degrees.

So for astronomy the spring begins around March 20 and ends around June 21st.
