It is very important for a designer to have a signature design through which everyone will recognize that the particular creation is their own. Apart from their logo, which often are not visible on the creations, the top fashion designers have found a pattern they use quite often.
Once you see a quilted diamond shape on a bag or a cloth or even an eye shadow, then your mind goes straight to Chanel. This pattern appeared in the legendary chanel bag 2.55 and has since become a trademark of the house. It is said that Coco Chanel was inspired by various sources for this motif such as the Jockey Riding Coat, the stained glass windows and the pillows from her Paris apartment.
The chairs used in Dior‘s first fashion show are the source of inspiration for the house’s Cannage Design. Six years after this first show in 1947, the L’Eau Fraîche perfume packaging was decorated with this design and has since been used in many of the house’s products.
Gancini in Italian means a small hook or clasp used to hang various items. This is the name of the Salvatore Ferragamo logo. It looks like an inverted petal and is called Gancino. It first appeared as a clasp on a bag by Salvatore Ferragamo and since then we can find it on shoes, belts and any other product.
