It’s 5 o’ clock in the afternoon and I am sitting by my laptop looking outside my window. It’s December and the sun sets early this time of the year. I’m gazing the sky, with a layer of clouds and a wonderful range of colours from dark blue to orange that fades away into the light blue. My mind goes years back, at highschool when there was still afternoon shifts. This time of the day during school I used to look outside the classrooms’ windows and I was amazed by the breathtaking colours of the sky, that took me far away from the difficult and many times boring class.
At the last classes of Highschool I was lucky enough to visit Santorini, which I have to say that there is no similar landscape in Greece. I couldn’t miss of course Oia village that is known for the beautiful sunset. I’ve arrived there and I’ve followed the crowd to that part of the island that you can see the sun disappear into the sea. So, it’s not a coincidence that Santorini is mentioned to every piece of article referring to the Worlds Best Sunsets.
Our beloved Santorini follows in that category the Bora Bora island in Tahiti, The Maldives, India’s Taj Mahal but also the African Tanzania and the Scotish Highlands.
Personally I believe that “wherever there’s a sky, there’s a breathtaking sunset”
