Can a movie about a famous fashion house be adventurous? The answer is, of course it can, if it is about the murder of Maurizio Gucci by his… wife. Love, money, greed and revenge are the ingredients of a successful movie and this story has all of the above!
Lady Gaga embodies the part of Patricia Reggiani-Gucci, a woman with a special temperament, who has linked her name to the biggest murder scandal of the fashion world in Italy. Adam Driver stars as Mauricio Gucci, The cast of the film includes famous actors like Jared Leto, Al Pacino and Jeremy Irons.
From the first trailer of the movie that was released one thing is for sure, although the story is more or less known, the movie will enchant you with the glamor and the impeccable style of the House and the family members. The screenplay is based on the book “The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamor, and Greed”.
The story begins when in the late 60’s, 20-year-old Maurizio, the only son of Rodolfo Gucci, meets and falls in love with Patricia, wich has the same age as him. Despite the family’s objections, Maurizio, four years later, marries his beloved and leaves the family. His reunion comes with the birth of his first daughter and Maurizio returns dynamically to the leadership of the company.
The couple lives moments of great glory and luxurious life. Frenzy parties and socializing with the American jet set and Jackie Onassis. In fact, they drive in Manhattan with a car that had the license plate “Mauizia”, long before the term Brangelina showed up for the former popular couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Over the years, Maurizio’s greed leads him to remove the rest of the family from the House. At the same time, however, things did not go well in his personal life either, until in 1984 he left his wife and two daughters. Ten years later, when Patricia learned that Mauricio was about to remarry, she decided to kill him, thinking that if he started a new family, her daughters would cease to be the only heirs. Her friend Pina Auriemma, a psychic who had been visiting for years, helped her with her plans. So she managed to hire two professional killers, who killed her husband on March 27th, 1995 outside his office in Milan.

For two years Patricia escaped arrest and lived a luxurious life. But when one of the two murderers bragged about the murder he had committed, things changed and the “black widow” faced the consequences of her actions.
The film will be released in cinemas on November 24th, 2021.
